While South of Broad and Ansonborough neighborhood(linked) are our current favorites, the rest of downtown offers a vibrant and diverse range of homes and apartments catering to young (and young at heart) professionals and upwardly mobiles seeking a walkable and urban texture to their daily lives. Chosen as one of the best cities in the world, it is no wonder the demand exceeds the supply close to the urban center of the City. Of course, you may have to fight off some college kids for parking spaces!
Not a secret, but the Farmers Market every Saturday is a don’t miss where you can pick up fresh eggs and fresh pasta, along with your breakfast. Take a walk through the gentrifying areas along Spring and Cannon streets and stop in for a sandwich at Artisan Meat Share or comfort Asian fare at Xiao Bao Biscuit. Grab a good book at Blue Bicycle Books on King and then snag a bench at the new Theodora Park at George & Anson for a good read in the shade.
