The 37th Annual Cooper River Bridge Run is only weeks away. So if you plan to be one of the 40,000 participants to run the 10K, it’s time to start training.
The foot race starts in Mount Pleasant, spans the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and ends in downtown Charleston. USATODAY.com just listed the race as one of the “14 Spring Races All Runners Should Try“.
The race is scheduled for Saturday, April 5th and you can register online at BridgeRun.com.
There are plenty of online resources to help you train for long distance runs. Hal Higdon’s program includes a mix of stretching, strength training, cross-training, running workouts and long runs to build up to race day. Allow yourself eight weeks to train, take is slow and steady so when you are crossing the bridge you are able to relax and enjoy the view.
If you lived at 2 Laurens Street in downtown Charleston you could run the bridge everyday or, at least, enjoy views of the bridge on a walk around the neighborhood. Whichever your speed, this luxury condominium is sure to please. Click here to learn more and to schedule a private showing.
